…but the beholden better do some tap-dancin’.
Here we have two fine male specimens. One is Ryan Gosling, for whom the mere name makes women have a Pavlovian response – there’s numerous websites, blogs, tumblrs, “Fuck Yeah…Hey Girl” fan pages dedicated to him. The other fine male specimen is Jason Lewis. I did not know his name. I had to Google “Jason+Sex & The City” to find him. I’m sure he has plenty of fans, but he’s certainly not a household name. Now, one could argue (and I guess that’s me, hi!) that both men are equally attractive, built, striking, etc. But one has been universally held up as God’s gift whilst the other may be doing…commercials? I don’t know. But my long convoluted point is that it must be beauty in motion, not beauty in stasis, in order to capture our attention and ignite our attraction. Obviously Mr. Gosling has the prime benefit of having the massive media/entertainment machine at his back, churning out page after page of press, pics, and moving pictures. Again, he is in action, he is in motion, he DOES things, he SAYS things, his belief systems, his passions, his reasons for getting up in the morning have all been shouted from the rooftops, lest we forget. Meanwhile, with regards to Mr. Lewis, I have no idea what the hell he does, what he likes, doesn’t like, etc. I certainly wouldn’t kick him out of bed, but if the two of them were waiting to make me breakfast when I woke up (obviously I would be dead, and it would be the afterlife), I would probably choose Ryan. Simply because I “know” him better. Isn’t that shameful? But again, it also goes to show you that it has to take a lot more than a pretty face to truly capture one’s attention, and ultimately their heart. Or should I say wallet.
